I am a PhD student at the University of Exeter in Cornwall, UK. My PhD is interdisciplinary in Mining and Metals Engineering and Social Sciences. My PhD is supervised by Dr. Kathryn Moore at from the College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences, and Dr. Deborah MacFarlane, from the College of of Social Sciences and International Studies. My PhD focuses on small-scale and artisanal mining in the global north and the potential development pathways in the global south.

As a geologist who is retraining as a social scientist, I am curious about the role resources play in human development, and how resource extraction can be socially and environmentally sustainable. My experience ranges from mineral exploration, to community social relations, to specialized Quaternary Geology for mining and geohazards. When Iā€™m not practicing geology, you will find me on my yoga mat, running on a trail, skiing in the mountains, trying my best at chess, lost in my journals and books, or exploring our beautiful planet.
